Counsel #4 — Skepticism

Picture: Counsel #4 — Skepticism CSe 67.1

One of the reasons people reject a literal 7-day Creation by God is that they deny the supernatural, including any wonders in the natural world that cannot be replicated or observed. A first step in becoming a Christian is to acknowledge that God exists, that He has all power, that His activity supersedes humanity’s activity or comprehension, and that He is not bound by natural law.[68] CSe 67.2

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 NKJV CSe 67.3

“Skeptics refuse to believe in God because they cannot comprehend the infinite power by which He reveals Himself. But God is to be acknowledged as much from what He does not reveal of Himself, as from that which is open to our limited comprehension. Both in divine revelation and in nature, God has given mysteries to command our faith…. We may be ever searching, ever inquiring, ever learning, and yet there is an infinity beyond.” Ellen White in Ministry of Healing, p. 431 CSe 67.4
