Counsel #3 — Satan As A Chameleon
Picture: Counsel #3 — Satan As A Chameleon CSe 66.1
Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. Some individuals believe in “good angels” but don’t believe there is a literal Satan, and certainly not an evil angel who can masquerade as good. This increases Satan’s power to deceive (see 2 Thessalonians 2:9).[67] CSe 66.2
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV CSe 66.3
“Satan can present a counterfeit so closely resembling the truth that it deceives those who are willing to be deceived, who desire to shun the self-denial and sacrifice demanded by the truth; but it is impossible for him to hold under his power one soul who honestly desires, at whatever cost, to know the truth.” Ellen White in The Great Controversy, p. 528 CSe 66.4
Reflection: Does it encourage you to know that Satan cannot keep anyone under his deceptive power if they are determined to know the truth, no matter the cost? CSe 66.5
