Counsel #3 — Our Origins

Picture: Counsel #3 — Our Origins CSe 5.1

Where did we come from? CSe 5.2

Our Creator God is the originator of all life. There is nothing existing in the universe that He did not create (see Colossians 1:16, 17).[3] If we believe God is our Life-giver and we are created in His image, our worldview is completely different from the worldview of one who believes life originates from natural selection. CSe 5.3

“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3 NKJV CSe 5.4

“’So God created man in His own image… male and female created He them.’ Here is clearly set forth the origin of the human race; and the divine record is so plainly stated that there is no occasion for erroneous conclusions…. The genealogy of our race, as given by inspiration, traces back its origin, not to a line of developing germs, mollusks, and quadrupeds, but to the great Creator. Though formed from the dust, Adam was ‘the son of God.’” Ellen White in Patriarchs and Prophets, pp. 44, 45 CSe 5.5

Reflect: In what ways does our belief about origins impact what we believe about the meaning of life? CSe 5.6
