Counsel #10 — Wholesome

When thinking about all God has blessed you with, it’s easy to overlook the blessing of wholesome foods. God didn’t just make you to survive — He made you to thrive in abundance! One of the best ways to do this is to monitor the quality of food you’re putting in your body. CWe 128.2

In the Garden of Eden, God provided natural foods to ensure that Adam and Eve had everything they needed for a healthy lifestyle. The same foods that were a part of God’s provision in the Garden today can still be used to rebuild and rid the body of disease and sickness. Instead of eating highly processed, fast food, or foods with high sugar and sodium content, choose whole-grain food options such as brown rice, oats, quinoa, and whole wheat options. Unlike foods that are stripped of their nutrients during man-made processing, whole grains retain all their health benefits. If you want more energy, an improved digestive system, and stronger heart health, seek out these healthier alternatives! By making intentional, small dietary changes like swapping white rice with brown rice, you can better glorify God when you feed your body what the Manufacturer made for it.[164] CWe 128.3

“Then Isaiah said, ‘Prepare a poultice of figs.’ They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.” 2 Kings 20:7 NIV CWe 128.4

“Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator.” Ellen White in Counsels for the Church, p. 222 CWe 128.5
