Counsel #25 — Humble yourself
Picture: Counsel #25 — Humble yourself CSL 103.1
Life can often feel overwhelming. We might feel like we need to control everything and make sure things happen exactly when and how we want them to. But trying to hold onto our plans so rigidly can make us feel more anxious and less peaceful. There's another way to find peace, and it involves being humble and trusting it all to God. CSL 103.2
The idea of Christian humility includes recognizing that we don't have all the answers or solutions and that there's a Power greater than us Who does! When we submit ourselves fully to Christ, we also believe that He loves us and has a plan and a timing that is better than our own. This doesn't mean we don't have goals or dreams, but it does mean we're willing to give them over to God and wait patiently, asking that things will unfold as He wills and in His perfect timing. Give your plans, anxieties, and stresses to God, trusting He will handle them for your good!36 CSL 103.4
“Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV CSL 103.5
“Above the distractions of the earth He sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey; and from His great and calm eternity He orders that which His providence sees best.” Ellen White in Ministry of Healing , p. 417 CSL 103.6
