Counsel #26 — A Different Peace

There are two different kinds of peace. CSL 104.2
The world's peace is often fragile. People might find this kind of peace through things like having enough money, a good job, or healthy relationships. If money problems come, a job is lost, or a relationship breaks down, that worldly peace can disappear in an instant, leaving behind worry, anxiety, and fear.37 CSL 104.3
But the peace that God gives is different. It's not based on our circumstances or how good things are going in our lives. Instead, it comes from knowing how much God loves us. As God's people, we understand that we are deeply valued by our Creator. The Bible assures us that God will take care of our needs. This doesn't mean we won't face challenges, but it means we can have a deep sense of security knowing that God is with us and will provide for us.38 CSL 104.4
“My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 NKJV CSL 104.5
“Let the followers of Christ settle it in their minds that they will never compromise truth, never yield one iota of principle for the favor of the world. Let them hold to the peace of Christ.” Ellen White in My Life Today , p. 77 CSL 104.6
