Counsel #21 — Be mindful

Picture: Counsel #21 — Be mindful CSL 99.1

One way to experience more peace is by being mindful of the good moments—big or small—and seeing them as gifts from God. When you’re mindfully present, it’s easier to notice and acknowledge His hand in your everyday life: a kind word, a sunrise, a quiet moment that calms your heart. These things might seem small, but they’re actually signs of God’s love, transforming our perspective and shifting our gaze from anxieties and concerns. Try journaling or snapping a photo. Later, when life feels heavy or lonely, those reminders can lift your spirit. Going back through them can bring happiness to our hearts, turning into an act of praise—thanking God for all He’s done.30 CSL 99.2

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 NKJV CSL 99.3

“Let the fresh blessings of each new day awaken praise in our hearts for these tokens of His loving care. When you open your eyes in the morning, thank God that He has kept you through the night. Thank Him for His peace in your heart. Morning, noon, and night let gratitude as a sweet perfume ascend to heaven....” Ellen White in Our Father Cares, p. 55 CSL 99.4
