One of the most powerful experiences of spending time alone with Jesus is prayer. In a world that feels overwhelming, it’s easy to carry the weight of your friends’ struggles, your family’s pain, or your own anxieties. But when you step into that quiet space with God, everything shifts. CMH 101.2
Prayer becomes your lifeline, and one of the most beautiful ways to connect with Him is through intercession - praying for others. Many people struggle with understanding the structure of prayer, but talking to God is easy! Start by being real and authentic. Talk to God like you would a close friend. Thank Him for who He is (worship) and what He’s done for you (praise), then bring each person before Him by name. Share what they’re going through, and ask for His help, healing, or peace in their lives. You can strengthen your prayers by reciting Scripture, like using Psalms 23 to ask for guidance and comfort. In John 17, Jesus prayed personally and specifically for His disciples, and you can do the same for your loved ones. God will hear your prayers and answer in His perfect timing.5 CMH 101.3
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people…” 1 Timothy 2:1 NIV CMH 101.4
