If you’ve ever pulled an all-nighter or scrolled for hours in bed, you’ve probably majorly regretted it because of how you felt the next day — tired, foggy, and irritable. Sleep isn’t just a luxury - it’s a necessity! CI 181.2
Many people take sleep for granted, but getting a good night’s rest should always be prioritized. While you’re asleep, your brain works hard to clear mental clutter, regulate your hormones, and restore your energy levels. Additionally, quality sleep strengthens your immune system, sharpens focus, and helps you feel more confident and capable. On the flip side, poor sleep can contribute to anxiety, low self-esteem, and even depression. Getting good rest is about being a good steward of the body-temple God gave you. In the Bible, even God modeled the importance of rest by creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh. If you’re eager to get on a better sleep schedule, start by aiming for consistent sleep and wake times, even on weekends. Avoid screens at least an hour before bed, get some natural light during the day, skip caffeine altogether, and avoid heavy meals late at night. God desires healthy, spiritual warriors. Can He count on you?[197] CI 181.3
