[שָׁתַת] vb. set, appoint (poet.) (‖ form of שׁית Ges§ 67 ee);—
Qal Pf. 3 pl. כַּצֹּאן לִשְׁאוֹל שַׁתּוּ ψ 49:15 they have been appointed (lit. they have appointed them, indef. subj.) like a flock for She’ôl, but Gr reads שָׁ֫חוּ (שׁוח), Bae 3 יֵחַתּוּ (נחת); שַׁתּוּ בַשָּׁמַיִם פִּיהֶם 73:9 (‖ וּלְשׁוֹנָם תִּהֲלַךְ בָּאָרֶץ).
