Дух Святой пребудет до конца

Христос заверил, что Божественное влияние Духа пребудет с Его последователями до самого конца. Но это обетование не оценено по достоинству, и поэтому оно не исполняется в должной мере. Люди мало размышляют об обетовании Духа, а результат вполне предсказуемый — духовная засуха, духовная тьма, духовный упадок и смерть. Мысли человеческие заняты маловажными вопросами, а Божественной силы, необходимой для роста и процветания Церкви и могущей принести с собой другие благословения, не хватает, хотя она и предлагается в безмерной полноте. СдЦ 100.1

Именно отсутствие Духа делает евангельское служение столь бессильным. Ученость, талант, красноречие, любая врожденная или приобретенная способность могут иметь место, но без Духа Божьего ни одно сердце не будет тронуто, ни один грешник не будет приобретен для Христа. С другой стороны, самые бедные и невежественные из Его учеников обретут силу, взывающую к сердцам, если они воссоединятся со Христом и обретут дары Духа. Бог сделает их каналами для передачи самого возвышенного влияния во Вселенной. СдЦ 100.2

Ревность о Боге побуждала учеников нести свидетельство истины с великой силой. Не должна ли эта ревность и наши сердца зажигать решимостью проповедовать об искупительной любви Христа, и притом распятого? Разве Дух Божий не снизойдет сегодня, сейчас, в ответ на искреннюю, настойчивую молитву, чтобы наполнить людей силой, необходимой для служения? Почему же тогда Церковь так слаба и бездуховна?¹²⁹ СдЦ 100.3

Когда Святой Дух будет руководить умами адвентистов, тогда в наших церквах установятся гораздо более высокие критерии речи, служения и духовности, чем сейчас. Вода жизни даст членам Церкви покой и отраду, и труженики, работающие во главе со Христом, явят своего Господа в духе, в словах и делах и будут воодушевлять друг друга на скорейшее завершение той важной работы, в которой мы участвуем. Мы увидим энергичное возрастание единства и любви, и оно засвидетельствует миру, что Бог послал Своего Сына умереть ради искупления грешников. Божественная истина будет превознесена, и когда она засияет, как горящий светильник, мы начнем понимать ее все яснее и яснее.¹³⁰ СдЦ 100.4

Мне было показано, что если народ Божий не предпримет со своей стороны никаких усилий, но будет ожидать, когда придут времена отрады, в которые можно будет очиститься от всякой неправды и исправить все свои ошибки, если дети Божьи будут рассчитывать на то, что в это последнее время они смогут каким-то образом очиститься от скверны плоти и духа и приготовиться к возвещению громкого клича третьего ангела, они будут найдены очень легкими. Сила Божья сойдет только на тех, кто приготовит себя к этому, выполняя работу, которую Бог велит им выполнять, а именно: очистить себя от всякой скверны плоти и духа, совершать святыню в страхе Божьем.¹³¹ СдЦ 100.5

The Holy Spirit Will Abide Unto the End

Christ declared that the divine influence of the Spirit was to be with His followers unto the end. But the promise is not appreciated as it should be; and therefore its fulfillment is not seen as it might be. The promise of the Spirit is a matter little thought of; and the result is only what might be expected—spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Minor matters occupy the attention, and the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in its infinite plenitude. CCh 100.1

It is the absence of the Spirit that makes the gospel ministry so powerless. Learning, talent, eloquence, every natural or acquired endowment, may be possessed; but, without the presence of the Spirit of God, no heart will be touched, no sinner won to Christ. On the other hand, if they are connected with Christ, if the gifts of the Spirit are theirs, the poorest and most ignorant of His disciples will have a power that will tell upon hearts. God makes them channels for the outflowing of the highest influence in the universe. CCh 100.2

Zeal for God moved the disciples to bear witness to the truth with mighty power. Should not this zeal fire our hearts with a determination to tell the story of redeeming love, of Christ and Him crucified? Is not the Spirit of God to come today, in answer to earnest, persevering prayer, and fill men with power for service? Why, then, is the church so weak and spiritless?¹³⁰ CCh 100.3

When the Holy Spirit controls the minds of our church members, there will be seen in our churches a much higher standard in speech, in ministry, in spirituality, than is now seen. The church members will be refreshed by the water of life, and the laborers, working under one Head, even Christ, will reveal their Master in spirit, in word, in deed, and will encourage one another to press forward in the grand, closing work in which we are engaged. There will be a healthy increase of unity and love, which will bear testimony to the world that God sent His Son to die for the redemption of sinners. Divine truth will be exalted; and as it shines forth as a lamp that burneth, we shall understand it more and still more clearly.¹³¹ CCh 100.4

I was shown that if God’s people make no efforts on their part, but wait for the refreshing to come upon them and remove their wrongs and correct their errors; if they depend upon that to cleanse them from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the loud cry of the third angel, they will be found wanting. The refreshing or power of God comes only on those who have prepared themselves for it by doing the work which God bids them, namely, cleansing themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.¹³² CCh 100.5
