Ekukhethweni kwezitsha zokuvuselela ibandla, icebo lezulu elifananayo liyabonakala njalo ekukhethweni kwabantu abasungula amabandla. UMbalisi omkhulu wasezulwini wadlula amadoda ayelezikhundla eziphakemeyo, lezinothi njalo lababusi, ababejwayele ukuphakanyiswa njengabaphathi babantu bonke. Ingqondo yakhe yakhula masinyane, ngesikhatshana kwaba lombuzo wokuthi babezathola ngaphi ababalisi ababelokukhalipha okwaneleyo ukuthi bamfundise. UZwingli walalela ilizwi leli, kodwa kwabanzima kuye ukuthi ahlale ezintabeni zakibo engafundi, ngemva kwesikhatshana waqhubeka ngezifundo zakhe edolobheni laseBasel. Kwakulapha uZwingli ezwa khona ngokokuqala ivangeli lomusa kaNkulunkulu ongathengiswayo. UWittenbach, owayefundisa indimi zasendulo, wayethe ngesikhathi efunda ulimi lwesiGreek lesiHebheru, wadonselwa eBhayibhilini, njalo ngale indlela ukukhanya kwezulu kwakufinyelele abafundi ababengaphansi kwakhe. “IBhayibhili,” watsho uZwingli, “livela kuNkulunkulu, hatshi ebantwini, njalo ngokufanayo uNkulunkulu okhanyiselayo, uzalinika lani ukuqedisisa ilizwi elivela kuNkulunkulu. Ilizwi likaNkulunkulu...alehluleki, lilokukhanya, liyazifundisela, liyaziveza, liyakhanyisela umphefumulo ngosindiso langomusa, liyaduduza umphefumulo eNkosini, liwenze uzehlise, okubangela ukuthi umphefumulo uzidele njalo uzikhohlwe, njalo wamukele uNkulunkulu.” Iqiniso lamazwi lawa laselibonisiwe empilweni kaZwingli. Imfundiso eyayifundiswa nguZwingli yayingaveli kuLuther. Kwakuyimfundiso kaKrestu. “Nxa kuyikuthi uLuther utshumayela ngoKrestu,” watsho uMvuseleli wamaSwiss, “wenza lokhu lami engikwenzayo. Labo abalethe kuKrestu banengi kulalabo abalethwe yimi. Kodwa lokhu akulamsebenzi. Angisoke ngiphakamise elinye igama kulelikaKrestu, engilibutho lakhe, yena njalo kuphela oyiNkosi yami. Ngomnyaka ka1516 uZwingli wanxuswa ukuthi azokuba ngumtshumayeli endaweni yaseEinsiedeln. Kule indawo yikho ayezabona ububi baseRoma njalo wayezaba lendonsela njengoMvuseleli eyayizaphumela ngaphandle kwendawo yakibo ifinyelele endaweni ezikhatshana. Phakathi kwezinye indawo zokubukisa ezazisedolobheni leli, kwakulesithombe sentombi epheleleyo okwakukholelwa ukuthi sasisenza izimanga. “Lingacabangi ukuthi uNkulunkulu usethempelini leli okwedlula indawo zonke azidalileyo. Loba kuyiphi indawo ohlala kuyo, uNkulunkulu useduze lawe, njalo uyakuzwa...Kambe imisebenzi yomuntu engelamsebenzi, lokuhamba uhambo olude, leminikelo, lezithombe, lokucela owesifazana kumbe abantu abafileyo abangcwele, kuzakutholela umusa kaNkulunkulu na? ... Uyini umvuzo wokusebenzisa amazwi amanengi emthandazweni yethu na? Kusizangani ukubalezembatho ezikhazimulayo, lokugela inwele, njalo lokugqoka izembatho ezinde, lezihlango ezicwebezelayo na? ...UNkulunkulu ukhangela inhliziyo, njalo inhliziyo zethu zikhatshana laye.” “UKrestu owabethelwa esiphambanweni, ungumnikelo lentengo, eyaneleyo ukuthethelela izono zabakholwayo kuzekube sekupheleni.” (Ibid, b.8, ch.5). {GC 175.1} IEP 175.1

Ebantwini abanengi ababelalele imfundiso leyi yayingamukeleki. Kwabangamazwi ayephula inhliziyo ukuzwa ukuthi uhambo lwabo olude kangaka lwaluyize. Babengazwisisi ukuthethelelwa okungabhadalelwayo okwakuvela kuKrestu. Babesuthiseka ngendlela yokuya ezulwini eyayisungulwe libandla leRoma. Baphela amandla nxa babecabanga ukuthi kwakumele badinge eyinye indlela engcono. Umsebenzi kaZwingli edolobheni laseEinsiedeln wawumlungiselele insimu enkulu, njalo wayesezangena kuyo ngesikhatshana. Ngemva kweminyaka emithathu kule indawo wabizelwa esikhundleni sokuba ngumtshumayeli ebandleni laseZurich. Leli kwakulidolobho eliqakathekileyo elizweni laseSwitzerland, njalo indosela eyayiphuma lapha yayizafinyelela indawo ezinengi. Uzatshutshisa bonke abakholwayo, entshumayelweni yakho lanxa besiza kuwe bezovuma izono zabo, ukuthi babhadala okwetshumi leminikelo, njalo ukuthi babonise uthando lwabo lwebandla ngeminikelo yabo. Kuzamele usebenze nzima ukukhulisa isikhwama semali ephuma kwabagulayo, njalo kuzozonke inkonzo ezenziwayo phambi komphakathi.” “Ngokuphathelane lenkonzo yokunika umusa, lokutshumayela, njalo lokunakekela ibandla, lezi izinto lazo zigoqela umsebenzi womphathi webandla. Kodwa kulezi izinto ulawo amandla wokungazenzi ngazozonke izikhathi, ikakhulu ukutshumayela. UZwingli walalela ngokuthula nxa wayetshelwa konke lokhu, njalo nxa wayephendula, ngemva kokubonga isikhundla ayesiphiwe, waqhubekela phambili echaza indlela ayezimisele ukuhamba ngayo. “Impilo kaKrestu, sekulesikhathi eside ifihlelwe abantu. Ngizatshumayela ivangeli lonke elisencwadini kaMathewu, ...ngizathatha amazwi ami elizwini likaNkulunkulu kuphela, ngiveza ukujula kwalo, ngiqathanisa imigca lemigca, njalo ngidinge ukuqedisisa ngokuhlala emthandazweni. Umsebenzi wami uzaba yikudumisa uNkulunkulu, leNdodana yakhe eyodwa, lokuveza usindiso lwakhe ebantwini, njalo lokubakhulisa ekukholweni. (Ibid, b.8, ch.6). Loba abanye abadala bebandla bazama ukuphikisa icebo lakhe njalo bazama ukumenza ukuthi alitshintshe, uZwingli wama ebambelele emazwini akhe. Wabachazela ukuthi wayengasoke abuye lemfundiso entsha kodwa wayezachaza lokhu ibandla elalikholelwa kikho kusukela endulo. {GC 176.4} IEP 176.4

Ngalesi isikhathi abantu basebezwile njalo bayithanda imfundiso yakhe, okwabangela ukuthi inengi labantu lize ethempelini lizo kuzwa intshumayelo zakhe. Abanengi abasebayekela ukuza ebandleni baqala ukubuya bezolalela lokhu ayekutsho. Waqala umsebenzi wakhe ngokuvula iBhayibhili wabachazela ngempilo, lemfundiso, njalo lokufa kukaKrestu. Kule indawo ngokufanayo, waveza ilizwi likaNkulunkulu njengensika eyodwa engaguqukiyo njalo lokufa kukaKrestu njengomnikelo owodwa opheleleyo. “Ngithanda ukuliholela kuKrestu kuphela, uKrestu nguye kuphela umthombo wosindiso.” (Ibid, b. 8, ch. 6). Umtshumayeli wagonjolozelwa ngabantu abahlukeneyo, kusukela kubabusi labaqeqetshileyo, kusiya ezisebenzini kanye labantukazana. Ngokulangathelela okukhulu balalela amazwi akhe. Kazange atshumayele usindiso olungelambadalo, kodwa waqhubeka waveza ububi obabukhona ebandleni. Inengi labantu labuyela emakhaya lidumisa uNkulunkulu. “Indoda leyi ingumtshumayeli weqiniso. Uzaba nguMose wethu, asikhulule ebunyameni lobu baseGibhithe.” (Ibid, b. 8, ch.6). {GC 177.1} IEP 177.1

Kodwa loba ekuqaleni intshumayelo zakhe zaziyamukelwe ngentokozo, ngemva kwesikhathi baqala ukumlwisa. Abaphathi bebandla bazimisela ukuthi babezamisa umsebenzi wakhe njalo bawukhulume kabi. Abanye bamhlasela ngamazwi okuyeyisa, abanye bazama ukuthi bamqale njalo bamenze ukuthi alwe labo, njalo bamethusela. Kodwa uZwingli wakwamukela konke ngokubekezela, esithi: “Nxa sifisa ukuholela izoni kuKrestu, kumele sivale amehlo ethu singaboni okunengi.” (Ibid, b.8, ch.6). {GC 177.2} IEP 177.2

Omunye walabo ababekholelwa emfundisweni kaLuther, wathunyelwa edolobheni laseZurich, ethwele imbhalo kaLuther, ethunywe ngomunye wabangani beMvuselelo owayehlala edolobheni laseBasel, owacabanga ukuthi imbhalo leyi ithengiswe, ibe ngeyinye indlela yokuhambisa iqiniso. Wabhalela uZwingle wathi, “Hlolisisa ukuthi indoda leyi ilokuqedisisa lokulunga okufaneleyo, nxa kunjalo umvumele ukuthi athwale imbhalo kaLuther angene emadolobheni, lasezindaweni ezisemaphandleni, lasezindlini zabantu, ikakhulu indlela aveza ngayo umthandazo owanikwa nguJesu awubhalele abantu bonke. Elizweni laseGermany ukuthengiswa kwamaphepha entethelelo kwakubekwe esandleni sikaTetzel. Elizweni laseSwitzerland kwakubekwe esandleni sikaSamson owayezalwa elizweni laseItaly. USamson wayesebenzele ibandla ngaphambilini wenza umsebenzi ongcomekayo, ngokuletha inzuzo enengi esambeni sikapapa. Ngalesi isikhathi wayeseqhubeka ngomsebenzi lowu elizweni laseSwitzerland, wayefinyelela abantu abanengi, ethathela abantu abaswelayo imadlana yabo encane ababelayo, njalo ethatha imali kulabo abanothileyo, ebathengisela amaphepha entethelelo. Kodwa indonsela yeMvuselelo yayisizwakala endaweni zonke, lobanje ingenelisanga ukumisa ukuthengisa lokhu okwakusenziwa. UZwingli wayelokhu esedolobheni laseEinsiedeln ngesikhathi uSamson efika elizweni laseSwitzerland, lapho afika khona edolobheni elaliseduze lalapho ayekhona. Emhlanganweni, “uEck wasukuma wayaphambili ngokuziphakamisa okukhulu egqoke impahla ezidulayo kakhulu, ngakolunye uhlangothi uOecolampadius, wayegqoke njengomuntu oswelayo, wahlaliswa esihlalweni esasingabazwanga kahle phambi komuntu lowu ayezaphikisana laye.”- (Ibid, b. 11, ch. 13). UEck wayekhuluma ngelizwi elalibonisa ukuthi wayelokuzithemba okukhulu.
