Isahluko 22—Ukugcwaliseka Kwamazwi Esiprofethi.

Nxa isikhathi lapho ababecabanga ukuthi iNkosi yayizakuza ngaso sasesidlulile ekuqaleni komnyaka ka1844, labo ababelindele ukuza kwakhe okwesikhatshana baqala ukuthandabuza. Ngesikhathi umhlaba wawubakhangele njengabantu abasebenqotshiwe njalo ababekade bethembele emfundisweni yamanga, ithemba labo lalilokhe liselizwini likaNkulunkulu. Abanengi babo baqhubeka behlolisisa iMbhalo, bedingisisa ubufakazi obutsha benkolo yabo njalo becubungula isiprofethi ukuthi bathole ukukhanya okutsha. Phakathi kwamazwi lawa awesiprofethi amanye akhona atholakala encwadini kaHabakuki 2:1-4: “Ngizakuma endaweni yami yokulinda, ngime enqabeni yami, ngikhangele ukuba ngibone ukuthi iNkosi izakuthini kimi, lokuthi izakuphendula ithini ekukhaleni kwami. INkosi yangiphendula yathi, loba umbono uwenze ucace ematsheni ukuze ufundwe kalula nguye ogijimayo. Ngoba umbono ungowesikhathi sawo, uyaphangisa ukuya ekupheleni, kawuyikukhohlisa. Uba uphuza, uwulindele; ngoba uzakufika impela, kawuyikuphuza. Khangela lowo ongelabuqotho uzakwehluleka, kodwa olungileyo uzakuphila ngokukholwa kwakhe.” {GC 392.1} IEP 392.1

Kusukela ngomnyaka ka1842 amazwi esiprofethi awokuthi “loba umbono, uwenze ucace ematsheni, ukuze ufundwe kalula nguye ogijimayo,” ayezwisiswe nguCharles Fitch njengokuthi kwakumele kudwetshwe umfanekiso obonisa imbono etholakala kuDanyeli lakuSambulo. Ngakho wothi kibo: INkosi uNkulunkulu ithi: Kakusayikuphuza lelilodwa emazwini ami, kodwa ilizwi engilikhulumayo lizakwenzeka, kutsho iNkosi uNkulunkulu.” (Hezekeli 12:21-25, 27, 28). {GC 392.3} IEP 392.3

Bonke ababelindele ukuza kwakhe bathokoza, bekholwa ukuthi lowo owazi isiphetho kusukela ekuqaliseni wayekhangele kusukela ekuqaleni, njalo wabona ukudangala kwabo, wasebanika amazwi enduduzo lethemba. Ngemva kwalokho waqala ukukhuluma ngokuza kwakhe njalo langombuso wakhe, njalo wabatshela ngendatshana eyayichaza amaqembu amabili enceku ezazilindele ukuza kwakhe. Ngoba eziyizithutha zathatha izibane zazo, kazaze zaphatha amafutha. Kodwa ezihlakaniphileyo zaphatha amafutha ezitsheni kanye lezibane zazo. Kwathi umnyeni esephuzile, zawozela zonke, zalala ubuthongo. Kodwa phakathi kobusuku kwamenyezwa kwathiwa: Khangelani, nangu umnyeni; phumani liyemhlangabeza!” (Mathewu 25:1-6). {GC 393.3} IEP 393.3

Ukuza kukaKrestu ngendlela okumenyezelwe ngayo odabeni lwengilosi yakuqala, babezwisise ukuthi kwakumele ukuza komnyeni. Imvuselelo eyasabalala endaweni zonke ngenxa yokumemezela ukuthi iNkosi yaseyizabuya, bakuzwisisa njengokuphuma kwentombi lezi ezilitshumi. Endatshaneni leyi, njengakuleyi ekuMathewu 24, kuvezwe amaqembu amabili. Bonke babelezibane, okuchaza ukuthi bonke babeleBhayibhili, njalo ngokukhanya kwalo babephume ukuthi bayehlangabeza umnyeni. Kodwa loba “labo abayizithutha bathatha izibane zabo, kodwa bangathathi amafutha,” “ezihlakaniphileyo zathatha izibane zazo kanye lamafutha.” Iqula leli elokucina lalamukele umusa kaNkulunkulu, ongamandla avuselelayo, njalo akhanyiselayo akaMoya oNgcwele, elenza ukuthi ilizwi lakhe libe yisibane enyaweni lokukhanya endleleni. Ngenxa yokwesaba uNkulunkulu babefunde iBhayibhili ukuba bafunde iqiniso, njalo babeyenze konke okwakusemandleni wabo ukuthi bathole ukuhlambuluka enhliziyweni lasempilweni zabo. Laba babelohambo, njalo lokukholwa kuNkulunkulu njalo laselizwini lakhe, okwakungeke kususwe yikudangala kumbe ukuphuza. “Abanye bathatha izibane kodwa bangathathi amafutha.” Laba babesukume ngenxa yokufuna ukulandela abanye. Ukwesaba kwabo kwakuvuswe ngokuzwa ngodaba lolu, kodwa babeyame ekukholweni kwabazalwane babo, belokusuthiseka ngesibane esincane semizwa yabo, bengelakuqedisisa okupheleleyo kumbe ukuguquka kweqiniso enhliziyweni zabo. Laba babephumile labo ukuthi beyehlangabeza umnyeni, begcwele ithemba lokuthola umvuzo owawuzakuza masinyane, kodwa babengalungelanga ukuphuza lokudangala. Nxa inhlupho zasezisiza, ukukholwa kwabo kwehluleka, lezibane zabo zaqala ukufiphala. {GC 393.4} IEP 393.4

“Kwathi umnyeni esephuzile, zawozela zonke zalala ubuthongo.” Ngokuphuza komnyeni kuchazwa ukudlula kwesikhathi lapho ababelindele ukuthi iNkosi yayizakuza ngaso, ukudangala kwabo, njalo lokuphuza kwakhe. Ngalesi isikhathi sokungaqedisisi, ukukholwa kwalabo ababengaphendukanga kwaqala ukuphela, njalo lemizamo yabo yaqala ukuhlehlela emuva; kodwa labo ababelokukholwa okuvela ekwazini iBhayibhili ngokwabo, babeledwala ngaphansi kwenyawo zabo, okwakungeke kukhukhulwe ngamagagasi okudangala. “Bonke bawozela balala ubuthongo;” elinye iqembu laselilahle ithemba lalo, kodwa elinye lalinda ngokubekezela limelele ukuthi bambulelwe ukukhanya okutsha. Loba kwakunjalo phakathi kobusuku bokuhlolwa lokudangala lentombi ezihlakaniphileyo zabonakala sengathi lazo zasezilahlekelwa lithemba. Kwakulabanye ababonisa ithemba elingalunganga, abaqala ukuphikisa bonke ababengavumelani lendlela abasebeyikhethile. Imbono yabo ayizange iphambanise abazalwane beqiniso kodwa yangcolisa ibizo lamaKrestu ayelindele ukuza kweNkosi. {GC 395.1} IEP 395.1

USathane wayefisa ukusebenzisa indlela leyi ukubhidliza umsebenzi kaNkulunkulu. Abantu babevuselelwe kakhulu ngenxa yodaba lokuza kweNkosi, inkulungwane zezoni zaseziphendukile, njalo amadoda athembekileyo ayezinikele ukutshumayela iqiniso, langaphakathi kokudangala kwabo. USathane wayeselahlekelwe ngabalandeli bakhe, njalo ukwenzela ukuthi angcolise umsebenzi kaNkulunkulu, wazama ukudukisa abanye ababesithi balindele ukuza kwakhe wabenza ukuthi bathathele izinto phezulu. Ngemva kwalokho izisebenzi zakhe lezi zaqala ukugxila emangeni, lakikho konke okwakubonakala sengathi akugcwalisekanga, bakuletha phambi kwabantu bezama ukubonisa abantu ukuthi labo ababemelele ukuza kweNkosi kwakungabantu abangaphelelelanga engqondweni. Ngale indlela wenelisa ukusebenzisa labo ababecabanga ukuthi bangabanye babazalwane ababelindele ukuza kweNkosi kodwa belenhliziyo ezazithunganyelwa nguSathane, wabenza ukuthi bengcolise igama lalabo ababekholwa ngokweqiniso ngoba abantu ababekhangele ngaphandle bacabanga ukuthi kwakungumoya wabo bonke ababefundisa ngokuza kweNkosi. {GC 395.2} IEP 395.2

USathane “uhlala ebeka icala phezu kwabazalwane,” njalo ngumoya wakhe othungamela abantu ukuthi bahlale bedinga amaphutha empilweni zabantwana bakaNkulunkulu, njalo lokubalulaza, ngesikhathi esifanayo izenzo zabo ezinhle bayabe bengakhulumi ngazo. Uhlala esebenza zonke izikhathi lapho uNkulunkulu asebenza khona ukuhlenga imphefumulo yabantu. Nxa amadodana kaNkulunkulu esiza phambi kweNkosi, uSathane laye uyeza phakathi kwabo. Kuyo yonke imvuselelo uhlala elungele ukuletha labo abalenhliziyo ezingaguqukanga njalo labalengqondo ezingazothanga. Nxa laba sebamukele amanye amaqiniso, njalo sebeqala ukubalelwa kwabakholwayo, uyaqala ukusebenza ngabo ukuletha imfundiso ezihlelelwe ukuthi zidukise abangananzeleliyo. Akulamuntu obizwa ngokuthi ungumKrestu ngoba etholakala ephakathi kwamaKrestu, ngitsho lasendlini yokukhonza, kumbe etafuleni yeNkosi. USathane laye uhlala ekhona phakathi kwenkonzo ezicolekileyo esesimeni salabo angabasebenzisa njengezisebenzi zakhe. {GC 395.3} IEP 395.3

USathane uhlala elwisa ukuphambanisa abantu bakaNkulunkulu abahamba endleleni yokuya emzini wasezulwini. Kuyo yonke imbali yebandla akulamvuselelo esike yenzakala yangahlangani lemigoqo eminengi. ULuther laye wadlula ebunzimeni obukhulu ngenxa yabantu abathathela izinto phezulu ababesithi uNkulunkulu wayekhulume labo, njalo abaqala ukufaka imbono yabo phezu kobufakazi beBhayibhili. Abanengi ababengela kukholwa okujulileyo, kodwa ababezithemba bona, njalo ababethanda ukuzwa lokukhuluma izinto ezintsha, badukiswa yimfundiso yabantu laba, bahlanganyela lezisebenzi zikaSathane emsebenzini wabo wokuwisela phansi lokho uNkulunkulu ayesebenzise uLuther ukuthi akwakhe. Banengi phakathi kwethu abathi baphenduke ngokuphelela, abalandela imfundiso zabantu, njalo abawazi amaqiniso njengalabo abangalandeli iqiniso.” (Bliss, pages 236, 237). “Umoya wokulandela amaphutha uzasenza sisuke eqinisweni, njalo uMoya kaNkulunkulu uzasithungamela eqinisweni. Kwakungasikho ukutshumayelwa kodaba lokuza kukaKrestu kwesibili okwabangela ukuthi kube labantu abathathela izinto phezulu njalo lokwahlukana phakathi. Lokhu kwenzeka ngomyaka ka1844 nxa abazalwane babephakathi kokudangala lokudideka mayelana lalokho ababekukholwa. Ukutshunyayelwa kodaba lwengilosi yakuqala lokusondela koMsindisi kwakulamandla wokuqeda yonke imimoya engalunganga. Labo abaphatheka emsebenzini wokutshumayela udaba lolu babebambene, inhliziyo zabo zazigcwele uthando phakathi kwabo lolukaJesu, ababethemba ukuthi babezambona ngemva kwesikhatshana. Ukholo olulodwa, lethemba elilodwa, lwabaphakamisela phezu kwendonsela yabantu njalo kwabayisihawu esabavikela kuyo yonke imitshoko kaSathane. {GC 398.2} IEP 398.2

“Kwathi umnyeni esephuzile, zawozela zonke zalala ubuthongo. Kodwa phakathi kobusuku kwamenyezwa kwathiwa: Khangelani, nangu umyeni phumani limhlangabeze. Zasezivuka lezontombi zonke, zalungisa izibane zazo.” (Mathewu 25: 5-7). Ehlobo lomnyaka ka1844, phakathi kwesikhathi lapho ababecabanga ukuthi insuku ezingu2300 zaziphelela khona, lasebusika bomnyaka ofanayo, lapho abacina benanzelela ukuthi insuku lezi zazizaphelela khona, udaba lwamenyezelwa ngamazwi afanayo athi: “Khangelani umnyeni uyeza.” {GC 398.3} IEP 398.3

Lokho okwasungula iqula leli lamakholwa eqiniso ekuqaleni kwakuyikuzwisisa ukuthi umthetho owabekwa yinkosi uArtaxerxes owokuthi umuzi waseJerusalema uvuselelwe, okuyikho lapho isikhathi sensuku ezingu2300 esaqala khona, kwenzeka ekwindla ngomnyaka ka457 B.C njalo hatshi ekuqaleni komnyaka, ngendlela ababeqale bakholwa ukuthi kwakwenzeke ngaleso isikhathi. Bathi beqala ukubala kusukela ekwindla yomnyaka ka457, iminyaka engu2300 yayizaphela ekwindla ngomnyaka ka1844. {GC 398.4} IEP 398.4

Ukubulawa kwewundlu lePhasika kwakuyisithunzi sokufa kukaKrestu. UPhawuli uthi: “UKrestu iPhasika lethu wabulawelwa thina.” (1 Corinte 5:7). Ingatsha zezithelo zakuqala ezaziphakanyiselwe phezulu phambi kweNkosi, zazimele ukuvuka kukaKrestu. uPhawuli nxa ekhuluma ngokuvuka kweNkosi lokwabo bonke abantu bakhe uthi: “UKrestu isithelo sakuqala, besekusiba ngabakaKrestu ekubuyeni kwakhe.” (1 Corinte 15:23). Njengokolibo okwakuyizithelo zakuqala ezazivunwa ngaphambi kwesivuno, uKrestu uyisivuno sokuqala esiza phambi kwesivuno esikhulu sabantu abangasoke baphinde bakwazi ukufa abasindisiwe abazabuthelwa ezulwini evukweni lwakuqala nxa esiza. {GC 399.2} IEP 399.2

Zonke lezi izinto ezazimele ukuza kukaKrestu zagcwaliseka hatshi ngezehlakalo ezazikhomba ukuza kwazo kodwa ngesikhathi esifaneleyo. Nxa uMiller wayechaza umsebenzi lowu wathi: “Akukho eyinye indlela yokubonisa intokozo, okubonakala sengathi kunyathezelwe, lapho izulu lonke lomhlaba elizathokoza ndawonye ngentokozo engakhulumekiyo njalo begcwele inkazimulo. Akukho ukuklabalala, lokho lakho kubekelwe ukuthokoza kwasezulwini. Abahlabeleli labo bathule, balindele ukuhlanganyela lengilosi zasezulwini, abahlabeleli basezulwini... Abalimi batshiya izilimo zabo emasimini zingavunwanga, abomakanika labo batshiya imisebenzi yabo njalo ngenyembezi lokuthokoza baphuma bayanika isimemezelo lesi. Labo ababengabathungameli ekuqaleni babangabokucina ukuhlanganyela ekutshumayeleni lokhu. Benza ngendlela efanayo abantu ababesiza emihlanganweni yequla leli elalilindele ukuza kweNkosi, abanye babengaqedisisi, abanye njalo babefuna ukwenza inhlekisa ngabo, kodwa bezwa amandla ayehamba lodaba lolu lokuthi: “Khangela umyeni uyeza.” {GC 402.2} IEP 402.2

Ngalesi isikhathi kwakulokukholwa okwakuletha impendulo emthandazweni yabantu, lokukholwa okwakusazi ukuthi kwakulomvuzo ozayo. Njengamathonsi ezulu emhlabeni owomileyo, uMoya womusa wehlela phezu kwabo bonke ababewudinga ngokuzimisela. Labo ababekhangelele ukuma bekhangelene loMsindisi wabo kungekhatshana bezwa intokozo ecolekileyo ababengeke bayichaze. Amandla woMoya oNgcwele athinta inhliziyo zabo zababuthakathaka nxa izibusiso zakhe zasezithelwe phezu kwabo bonke ababekholwa njalo bethembekile. {GC 402.3} IEP 402.3

Ngokunanzelela njalo lokucoleka bonke ababeyamukele udaba lolu bafika esikhathini lapho ababekholwa ukuthi babezabona iNkosi yabo. Nsuku zonke ekuseni bezwa kungumlandu wabo ukudingisisa ubufakazi bokuthi babeyamukelekile phambi kaNkulunkulu. Babenhliziyo yinye njalo babethandaza ndawonye futhi bethandazelana. Esikhathini esinengi babehlangana endaweni ezisitheleyo bezokhulumisana loNkulunkulu, njalo amazwi wokucengela ayesenyuka esiya ezulwini esuka emasimini lasezixukwini. Isiqiniseko sokwamukelwa nguMsindisi sasiqakathekile kibo okwedlula ukudla kwenyama, njalo nxa kwakuleyezi elalisembesa ingqondo zabo, babengaphumuli lize lisuswe. Nxa babesizwa ubufakazi bomusa wokuthethelelwa, babesiba lesifiso sokubona lowo ababemthanda ngenhliziyo zabo zonke. {GC 403.1} IEP 403.1

Kodwa lakathesi babemelelwe yikudangala futhi. Isikhathi ababesilindele sadlula, njalo uMsindisi wabo kazange abuye. Ngesibindi esikhulu babekade bekhangelele ukuza kwakhe, manje basebesizwa njengoMaria nxa wayefika engcwabeni loMsindisi emthola engekho phakathi, lapho akhala khona wathi: “Bayithethe iNkosi yami, kangazi lapho bayibeke khona.” (Johane 20:13). {GC 403.2} IEP 403.2

Imizwa yokumangala, njalo lokwesaba ukuthi udaba lolu kwakungezeka lube luqinisekile, kwakubangele ukuthi abangakholwayo bazibambe. Kodwa ngemva kokudlula kwesikhathi lokhu akuzange kuhle kunyamalale, ekuqaleni abazange bafise ukuchothoza labo ababelindele ukuza kweNkosi, kodwa nxa kwakungekho ubufakazi bolaka lukaNkulunkulu olwaluzabehlela, ukwesaba kwabo kwasuka baqala ukubaklolodela lokubahleka. Abantu abanengi ababesequleni lalabo ababelindele ukuza kweNkosi, baqala ukulahla ukholo lwabo. Abanye ababeke babangabathungameli njalo ababelethemba elikhulu balimala kakhulu ngoba babelobumina bafisa ukuthi babengatshiya umhlaba. NjengoJona baqala ukukhonona phambi kaNkulunkulu, bafisa ukufa kulokuphila. IEP 403.3

Labo ababeyamise ukukholwa kwabo phezu kwembono yabanye hatshi elizwini likaNkulunkulu, manje basebelungele ukutshintsha imbono yabo. Izitha zabo zenelisa ukunqobela abanye engxenyeni yabo ikakhulu labo ababebuthakathaka, njalo bonke laba babambana labo betshela abantu ukuthi kwakungasela sizatho sokuthi besabe njalo belindele ukuza kukaKrestu. Isikhathi sasesidlulile njalo iNkosi yayingabuyanga, futhi kwakungenzeka ukuthi umhlaba uhlale unjalo okwenkulungwane zeminyaka. {GC 403.3} IEP 403.4

Abazalwane ababekholwe ngenhliziyo zabo zonke babetshiye konke ngenxa kaKrestu njalo babezwile ubukhona bakhe okwedlula zonke izikhathi empilweni yabo. Njengokukholwa kwabo babenike isixwayiso sokucina emhlabeni, njalo babekhangelele ukuthi babuthwe bayephila leNkosi yabo lengilosi zasezulwini, babezehlukanise lobudlelwano balabo ababeyale ukwamukela udaba lolu. Ngesifiso esikhulu babekhuleke bathi: “Woza Nkosi Jesu, njalo woza masinyane.” Kodwa wayengabuyanga. Njalo manje ukubuyelela imisebenzi yasemhlabani, njalo lokuzwa ukuhlekwa ngumhlaba kwakungumhloliso omkhulu empilweni zabo wokukholwa njalo lokubekezela. {GC 404.1} IEP 404.1

Loba kwakunjalo ukudangala kwabo kwakungalingani lalokho abafundi abadlula kikho ngemva kokubethelwa kukaKrestu. Nxa uJesu wayengena eJerusalema njengeNkosi, abalandeli bakhe babekholwa ukuthi wayeseza kwenyukela phezu kwesihlalo sikaDavida njalo akhulule isizwe sakoIsrayeli ezandleni zalabo ababebahlukumeza. Ngethemba eliphakemeyo njalo langentokozo yokumelela lokhu babambana bebonisa ukuhlonipha iNkosi yabo. Abanengi basebenzisa izembatho zabo endleleni yakhe, abanye bafaka ingatsha phambi kwakhe. Phakathi kwenjabulo yabo baqala ukuhlabela besithi: “Hosana eNdodaneni kaDavida!” Nxa abaFarisi basebezondiswe yikuzwa intokozo leyi, bafisa ukuthi uJesu athulise abafundi bakhe kodwa waphendula wathi: “Ngithi kini: Uba bethula laba, amatshe uqobo lwawo azakumemeza.” (Luka 19:40). Amazwi esiprofethi kwakumele agcwaliseke. Abafundi babefeza intando kaNkulunkulu, kodwa babezadlula phakathi kokudangala okukhulu. Ngemva kwamalanga ambalwa babona uMsindisi ebulawa ngochuku, njalo ebekwa ethuneni lakhe. Lokho ababekhangelele ukuthi kwenzeke kwakungayenzekanga, njalo amathemba wabo afa ndawonye loJesu. Abazange bananzelele kwaze kwaba ngemva kokuvuka kwakhe ukuthi konke lokhu kwakuveziwe emazwini esiprofethi njalo lokuthi “uKrestu kwakufanele abulawe, njalo avuke futhi kwabafileyo.” (Imisebenzi 17:3). {GC 404.2} IEP 404.2

Emakhulwini amahlanu eminyaka kungakayenzeki lokhu iNkosi yayikhulume ngomprofethi uZekariya yathi: “Thokoza kakhulu, wena Ziyone! Memeza kakhulu, Jerusalema, Khangela iNkosi yakho iyeza kuwe, inqobile yehlula, imnene, ikhwele ubabhemi, ithole, inkonyane kababhemi.” (Zekariya 9:9). Ngabe abafundi babenanzelele ukuthi uKrestu wayezadlula phakathi kokwahlulelwa njalo lokufa, babengeke bagcwalise isiprofethi lesi. {GC 405.1} IEP 405.1

Ngokufanayo uMiller labanye bakhe bagcwalisa isiprofethi bahambisa udaba amazwi esiprofethi ayechaze ukuthi kwakumele lunikwe umhlaba, kodwa ababengeke bawahambise ngabe babezwisisile, amazwi esiprofethi ayeveza ukuthi babezadlula phakathi kokudangala, njalo ayeveza olunye udaba okwakufanele lutshunyayelwe emhlabeni wonke ngaphambi kokuza kweNkosi. Udaba lwengilosi yakuqala leyesibili lwanikwa ngesikhathi esifaneleyo njalo zonke zombili zafeza umsebenzi uNkulunkulu ayefuna ukuthi ufezwe. {GC 405.2} IEP 405.2

Umhlaba wawukhangelele ukuthi nxa isikhathi ababesilindele sesidlulile inkolo yokuza kukaJesu yayizatshabalala. Kodwa loba abanengi ngaphansi kwezilingo ezinkulu batshiya ukholo lwabo, kwakukhona abanye ababambelela ekholweni lwabo. Izithelo zequla leli elalilindele ukuza kwesibili, lomoya wokuzehlisa njalo lokuhlolisisa inhliziyo, lowo kudela umhlaba njalo lokuguquka kwempilo, okwakuhambe lomsebenzi wabo, kwafakaza ukuthi umsebenzi lowu wawuholwa nguNkulunkulu. Abazange bathande ukuphika ukuthi amandla woMoya oyiNgcwele yiwo ayenike ukutshumayela kwabo amandla, njalo abazange bathole iphutha ekuchazeni kwabo amazwi esiprofethi ayekhuluma ngesikhathi ababekwenzile. Labantu labo ababebaphikisa labo babengazange benelise ukubonisa ukuthi ingcazelo yabo yayingaqondanga. Babengeke bavume kungela bufakazi obuvela eBhayibhilini, ukuthi balahle lokho ababekukholwa ngoba kwakuthethe ukuzimisela lokuthandaza, okwakwenziwe zingqondo zabantu ababekhanyiselwe nguMoya kaNkulunkulu njalo lenhliziyo ezazitshiseka ngenxa yamandla wayo; kwakungamaqiniso ayemelane labantu ababezame yonke imizamo yokuthi babaphikise, ababephuma ezikolo lasemabandleni amakhulu, njalo ayeme aqina phambi kokuhlakanipha kwabantu njalo lokuhlaselwa ngabantu bonke. {GC 405.3} IEP 405.3

Kwakuliqiniso ukuthi lokho ababekhangelele ukuthi kwenzeke kwakungenzakalanga, kodwa lakho lokhu akuzange kunyikinye ukukholwa kwabo okwakuselizwini likaNkulunkulu. Nxa uJonah wayetshumayele emigwaqweni yaseNiniva esithi ngemva kwamalanga angamatshumi amane, idolobho lalizabhidlizwa, iNkosi yamukela ukuzehlisa kwabantu baseNiniva, yengeza isikhathi somusa, kodwa loba kwakunjalo udaba lukaJonah lwaluvela kuNkulunkulu, njalo idolobho laseNiniva lahlolwa ngokwentando yakhe. Labo ababelindele ukuza kweNkosi labo babekholwa ngokufanayo ukuthi uNkulunkulu wayebathungamele ukuthi banike isixwayiso sokuza kokwahlulela. “Udaba lolu luhlole inhliziyo zabo bonke abaluzwileyo, njalo lwavuselela ukuthanda ukuza kweNkosi, kumbe lulethe inzondo, eyaziwa nguNkulunkulu mayelana lokuza kwakhe. Ludwebe umzila...ukwenzela ukuthi labo abazahlolisisa inhliziyo zabo, babekwazi ukuthi bebezatholakala bekuluphi uhlangothi, ngabe iNkosi yayibuyile, ukuthi kambe bebezathi: Khangela, leyi yiNkosi yethu, besiyilindile, izasihlenga;” kumbe bebezacela amadwala lezintaba kuthi zibawele zibafihle phambi kwakhe ohleli esihlalweni, njalo laphambi kolaka lweWundlu. UNkulunkulu kazange alahle abantu bakhe, uMoya wakhe wawulokhe uthungamela labo abangazange bagijimele ukulahla ukukhanya ababekuzuzile, njalo baphike inkolo yabo. Encwadini yamaHebheru kulamazwi aqinisayo, njalo axwayisa labo abalindileyo phakathi kokuhlupheka: “Ngakhoke lingalahlekelwa yisibindi senu esilomvuzo omkhulu. Ngoba lifanele ukubekezela, ukuze kuthi seliyenzile intando kaNkulunkulu lamukeliswe okwathenjiswayo. Kunjengokulotshiweyo ukuthi: Ngoba kuseyisikhatshana nje, ozayo uzakufika, kazikulibala; olungileyo wami uzakuphila ngokukholwa, kodwa uba ehlehlela emuva, umphefumulo wami kawulakuthokoza ngaye.
