Key-word, “Sojourn;” Key-verse, 33:1.-This is the book of pilgrimage and service, the wilderness wandering and training. Two numberings of Israel are here recorded, representing organization, system, the Lord’s hosts equipped and marshaled for the march to Canaan. The time covered is about forty years, the beginning and end of the period being most prominent. Hebrews 4:1; Psalm 95:10, 11.
