Additional Material in “Experience and Views”

We have come to the end of our examination of Mrs. White’s earliest writings before the little book Experience and Views, the first edition of her writings, was published in 1851. We have noted the page numbers in that book where each contribution there reprinted is to be found. The purpose of our study in this appendix, namely, to examine the earliest writings in relation to possible “suppression” at the time of the printing of Experience and Views, does not call for us to list material that had its first printing in that book. However, for the benefit of some who might wish to have a complete record of all that appeared in that book, we list these remaining items, first printed in Experience and Views, using for each the title given in the current work, Early Writings. EGWC 643.2

1. “Mark of the Beast.” Experience and Views, pp. 52-55. (Early Writings, 64-67.) EGWC 643.3

2. “Mysterious Rapping.” Experience and Views, pp. 47, 48. (Early Writings, 59, 60.) EGWC 643.4

3. “Preparation for the End.” Experience and Views, pp. 57-59. (Early Writings, 69-71.) EGWC 643.5

4. “The Messengers.” Experience and Views, pp. 49-52. (Early Writings, 61-64.) EGWC 643.6

5. “The Blind Leading the Blind.” Experience and Views, pp. 55, 56. (Early Writings, 68, 69.) EGWC 643.7

6. “Prayer and Faith.” Experience and Views, pp. 59-61. (Early Writings, 72, 73.) EGWC 643.8

7. “Dear Reader.” Experience and Views, pp. 62-64. (Early Writings, 76-78.) EGWC 643.9

These seven items, added to those already discussed, constitute the text of Experience and Views, which text constitutes approximately the first seventy-eight pages of Early Writings. EGWC 643.10
