The Great Visions of Ellen G. White

18/93

Conclusion

The ultimate evidence that Ellen White was a true prophet, for the people in Randolph, Massachusetts, on that mind-boggling day in the winter of 1845-1846 was not the miracle of her not breathing for four hours, nor that of holding a large Bible on an outstretched, unsupported hand. It was, rather, to be found in the content of the vision. 1. The unbiblical teachings of Sargent, Robbins, and company were exposed for what they were—theological fraud—by the Scriptures given to Ellen by God, which she uttered and pointed to during the vision. 2. She made a direct prediction concerning the future activities of her critics, which proved to be 100 percent correct within the space of several months. GVEGW 36.5

Ellen White was a true prophet; and, with Peter, we may also say that “we have not followed cunningly devised fables” when we believed on this prophetess of modern times. On the contrary, “we have a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:16, 19).
