- The Rosetta Stone: Discovered in Egypt in 1799, its three languages—hieroglyphics, demotic, and Greek unlocked the understanding of hieroglyphics. The ability to read ancient hieroglyphics continues to confirm the Bible’s authenticity.
- The Moabite Stone: Discovered in 1868, it confirmed Moabite attacks on Israel as recorded in 2 Kings 1,3.
- The Lachish Letters: Discovered in 1935, describes the attack of Nebuchadnezzar on Jerusalem in 586 BC.
- Cyrus Cylinder: Discovered in 1879, it records Cyrus’ overthrow of Babylon
- Codex Sinaiticus: (early Greek manuscript of almost the entire Greek Bible discovered in 1844)
- Dead Sea Scrolls: (Discovered in 1947, oldest Hebrew manuscripts of the Old Testament)
“Heaven and earth may pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Matthew 24:35 NKJV CCW 104.3
“Those who question the reliability of the Scripture records have let go their anchor and are left to beat about upon the rocks of infidelity. When they find themselves incapable of measuring the Creator and His works by their own imperfect knowledge of science, they question the existence of God and attribute infinite power to nature.” Ellen White in Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, p. 258 CCW 104.4
