Imagine the Sabbath as a sacred sanctuary, a place where you can escape the noise and chaos of the world and to celebrate God's goodness, to acknowledge His sovereignty, and to experience the transforming power of His love. It's a day to be grateful for all the blessings in your life. CCW 88.2
Moreover, the Sabbath is a day of commemoration, a time to remember God's deliverance of His people from slavery in Egypt. It's a day to celebrate the establishment of the Ten Commandments, the moral and spiritual foundation of God's law of love. By observing the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, you're connecting with the rich history of God's people and feeling the power of Jesus’ victory over Satan at the cross. CCW 88.3
The Sabbath is a day to remember how good God is, to express your love and gratitude for Him saving you from your sins, and to find solace in His presence.[125] CCW 88.4
“And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.” Deuteronomy 5:15 NKJV CCW 88.5
“To all who receive the Sabbath as a sign of Christ’s creative and redeeming power, it will be a delight. Seeing Christ in it, they delight themselves in Him.” Ellen White in The Desire of Ages, p. 289 CCW 88.6
