If you knew that a city was going to be destroyed—on a certain day and time—it’s almost certain that your warnings to people who lived there would become more intense and frequent as the day approached. We see God doing this in the Bible. As destruction loomed over Jerusalem, God sent more and more prophets to warn His people and amplify the truth He had already given. While no more doctrines are communicated after the biblical canon, we should still expect that God will warn His people through the gift of prophecy to prepare us for Jesus’ second coming.^[256] CCW 175.2
