Counsel #3 — Personal Creator Vs. Impersonal Origin

Let’s dig deeper in contemplating a personal Creator vs an impersonal origin with no Creator. These two perspectives provide very different possibilities for the process of origins. Virtually everyone accepts the reality of the laws of nature, yet were we made by them? If God exists, certainly He made and upholds His own laws. So, choosing between God or the laws of nature as our origin isn’t a consideration, as God created those laws. The biblical Creator-God’s planned creation process was based on His perfect knowledge of His own laws of nature. His divine power worked within those laws to instantly and miraculously create and support what He established.[27] CSe 28.2
The human alternative to creation, the philosophy of naturalism, excludes any intelligence in origins—no wisdom, knowledge, plan, or miracles. Consequently, every step in the origins process is attributed to chance! This may seem like a severe description, but it accurately reflects the modern theory of naturalistic science. CSe 28.3
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 CSe 28.4
“Men will endeavor to explain from natural causes the work of creation, which God has never revealed. But human science can not search out the secrets of the God of Heaven, and explain the stupendous works of creation, which were a miracle of Almighty power, any sooner than it can show how God came into existence.” Ellen White in Spiritual Gifts, vol. 3, p. 94.3 CSe 28.5
Reflect: If there is a personal God-Creator, what right might He have to ask for your love and obedience to Him? CSe 28.6
