Integrity and ethics are the bedrock of any successful institution. They foster trust, ensure fair treatment, and guide decision-making towards the greater good. Conversely, their absence creates a fertile ground for failure, eroding trust, fostering corruption, and leading to bullying and power struggles. CSI 123.2

Self-interest, greed, and a lack of transparency can lead to biased decision-making that prioritizes personal gain over the well-being of the institution and its stakeholders. This can result in poor resource allocation, missed opportunities, loss of public trust and a toxic work environment.^[173] CSI 123.3

The Bible repeatedly emphasizes the importance of justice and fairness in all aspects of life, including business and governance. (Proverbs 21:15, Amos 5:7) CSI 123.4

“In every business transaction be rigidly honest. However tempted, never deceive or [be evasive] in the least manner. At times a natural impulse may bring temptation to diverge from the straightforward path of honesty, but do not vary one hairsbreadth. If in any matter you make a statement as to what you will do, and afterward find that you have favored others to your own loss, do not vary a hairsbreadth from principle.
