Picture: Counsel #6 — Ways To Help CSI 134.1
Specific ways[185] that Christians can fulfill their responsibility to help care for global health include: CSI 134.2
- Pray for those who are sick and in need, and for a compassionate heart to serve them.
- Donate to organizations, such as ADRA,[186] that are working to improve global health.
- Volunteer your time at a local hospital, clinic, non-profit organization, food bank, and in private homes to help those who are sick or in need.
- Educate yourself about global health issues by reading books, articles, and websites as well as listening to podcasts, sermons, etc. by those who are providing health care services to the poor. The more you know about global health issues, the better equipped you will be to help.
- Speak out about injustice or inequality in the global health system.
- Let your church know about local needs.
- Organize or volunteer at a health event to serve the community, like events to provide free blood pressure checks, free dental care, or at cooking and lifestyle classes.
