Choose movies and TV shows that uplift and inspire you in your faith. Look for content that promotes positive values, such as love, kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. There's a lot of stuff out there that's fun and exciting, but it can also be negative and harmful to your faith. CLi 86.2
Think twice before watching something that might make you feel bad about yourself, your beliefs, or your faith. Instead, look for content that will build up your relationship with God and encourage you to be a better person.[78] CLi 86.3
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17 NKJV CLi 86.4
“There is a distinction between recreation and amusement. Recreation, when true to its name, re-creation, tends to strengthen and build up. Calling us aside from our ordinary cares and occupations, it affords refreshment for mind and body, and thus enables us to return with new vigor to the earnest work of life. Amusement, on the other hand, is sought for the sake of pleasure and is often carried to excess; it absorbs the energies that are required for useful work, and thus proves a hindrance to life’s success.” Ellen White in Education, p. 207 CLi 86.5
Reflect: How are the movies and TV shows you watch impacting your spiritual health? What changes in your TV viewing or movie choices might benefit you? CLi 86.6
