Our overriding purpose in life is to be continually clothed with the righteousness of Christ, which we receive when we choose Him as Lord over our entire life. This choice for Christ then causes our belief system, our Christianity, to integrate into our everyday practices, including how we dress. If we are willing to be transformed, God changes our preferences in eating, seeing, drinking, hearing, thinking, and wearing to reflect His will for us.[51] Thus, we do not dismiss fashion any more than we dismiss food! Instead, food and fashion, indeed all our choices, now become an avenue through which we can reflect by faith the goodness and purity of Christ. CLi 57.2
In this new transformed life, our goal as heaven’s ambassadors is to honor God with everything we do (see Colossians 3:17). CLi 57.3
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 NKJV CLi 57.4
“The Christian’s life is not a modification or improvement of the old, but a transformation of nature. There is death to self and sin, and a new life altogether.” Ellen White in Maranatha, p. 70 CLi 57.5
