In the whirlwind of daily life, many people end their busy days scrolling through social media, seeking a way to calm their racing minds. Whether you're juggling work or immersed in studies, everyone needs a way to decompress—and for many young people, that outlet is social media. CLi 35.2
While society often views social media obsession negatively, as Christians, it offers us a unique opportunity to share God’s love. By being open about our personal faith journeys and how God has helped us through challenges, we can inspire others to find hope in Him. We can encourage others by posting meaningful Bible verses, sharing uplifting podcasts, and offering to pray for those in need. While not everyone may respond positively, the goal is simply to be a voice of hope, encouragement, and faith, doing our part to shine God’s light in the digital world.[32] CLi 35.3
“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14 NIV CLi 35.4
“If you will go to work as Christ designs that His disciples shall, and win souls for Him, you will feel the need of a deeper experience and a greater knowledge in divine things, and will hunger and thirst after righteousness.” Ellen White in God’s Amazing Grace, p. 305 CLi 35.5
Reflect: Do you use social media to encourage others, or simply as a tool to pass the time? CLi 35.6
