In the days just before Jesus’ second coming, Satan will perform miraculous signs and wonders in a time of global chaos and international crisis (see Revelation 16:14; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15). A union of church (popular “Christian” religions) and state (secular law makers) will be forged which will violently oppose and oppress God’s people. CFL 31.2

Despite nearly universal coercive pressure to disobey God’s law and join the unfaithful world, God’s true last-day church will not waver nor violate God’s law, including the reviled and desecrated fourth commandment.^[27] CFL 31.3

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” Matthew 24:9 NKJV CFL 31.4

“The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance.
