After the days of “wilderness persecution” end in 1798, God’s Last-Day Church emerges with a renewed interest in the apocalyptic prophecies of Daniel and Revelation.^[26] Focusing on Daniel 8:14; Revelation 14:6-12 and related prophecies, early Adventists recognized that part of the “everlasting gospel” is to worship the Creator on the seventh-day Sabbath and that the hour of His judgment is come. This apocalyptic prophecy could be proclaimed only in the last days of earth’s history, for only then would it be true that the hour of judgment had come. CFL 30.2

In times of almost universal apostasy, the devil pours out his wrath on members of God’s Last-Day Church because they are sharing the gospel message of Revelation’s three angels. CFL 30.3

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Daniel 12:4 CFL 30.4
