Counsel #15 — Live in Peace
Picture: Counsel #15 — Live in Peace CWe 244.1
Maintaining a peaceful living environment begins with working toward a calm and balanced home life. Whenever a home is filled with tension, arguments, or unresolved conflicts, it can quickly become a place of stress rather than a haven for loved ones to dwell. CWe 244.2
One of the surest ways you can keep your home peaceful is to be a quick forgiver. Letting go of grudges and resentment not only creates space for peace to grow, but it reminds you of the mercy and grace God extends to you daily. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized space can help promote relaxation and tranquility. You can even try incorporating calm colors, soft lighting, and natural elements such as plants to further invite peace into your home. Soothing scents like chamomile or lavender also contribute to a more tranquil environment. CWe 244.3
Spiritual peace should also be cultivated. If every family member makes the effort to stay in sync with God through prayer, Scripture reading, and other uplifting habits, God’s presence will always be felt, creating a harmonious experience where daily, holistic renewal can thrive even amid challenges. And if not every family member seeks God, those who do will find strength for the conflicts.[277] CWe 244.4
“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Isaiah 32:18 NIV CWe 244.5
“We must have the Spirit of God, or we can never have harmony in the home...” Ellen White in The Adventist Home , p. 118 CWe 244.6
