Since Christ is the head of the church (see Colossians 1:18), we should expect to find and also give support while in the community of His believers. The church is organized as a place of worship and for service, outreach, and support for and by its members.^[87] CSL 88.2

“Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24, 25 NKJV CSL 88.3

“The church is God’s fortress, His city of refuge, which He holds in a revolted world. Any betrayal of the church is treachery to Him who has bought mankind with the blood of His only-begotten Son…. In every age the Lord has had His watchmen, who have borne a faithful testimony to the generation in which they lived… God brought these witnesses into covenant relation with Himself, uniting the church on earth with the church in heaven.
