Counsel #2 — Jesus, The Burden Bearer

Picture: Counsel #2 — Jesus, The Burden Bearer CMH 76.1

Jesus longs to carry our burdens. He wants to give us peace, freedom from anxiety and worry, and absolute trust in Him. It is not His will that we are weighed down with fear, worry, and tension. All heaven is interested in our welfare, and we can lay all our burdens right at the feet of the One who was nailed to the cross for us.[78] CMH 76.2

“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Psalms 68:19 NIV CMH 76.3

“God’s children are not to be subject to feelings and emotions. When they fluctuate between hope and fear, the heart of Christ is hurt; for He has given them unmistakable evidence of His love…. It should not be difficult to remember that the Lord desires you to lay your troubles and perplexities at His feet and leave them there. Go to Him, saying, ‘Lord, my burdens are too heavy for me to carry. Wilt Thou bear them for me?’ And He will answer, ‘I will take them. With everlasting kindness will I have mercy upon thee. I will take your sins and give you peace.” Ellen White in Letters and Manuscripts, vol. 25, Letter 2, 1914, par. 10 CMH 76.4
