Counsel #6 — Social Media's Role

Picture: Counsel #6 — Social Media&Apos;S Role CMH 32.1

Ever scroll through social media, bombarded by Bali vacations, career wins, and picture-perfect influencers? We know it's curated, yet we compare our unfiltered lives to their highlight reels. This envy breeds discontent and a gnawing fear of inadequacy. The pressure to "win" at this online game fuels stress, anxiety, and even depression.[30] CMH 32.2

Forget comparing yourself to everyone else! Measuring your worth against others' lives is a losing game. Instead, look to Jesus as the ultimate Example. He lived a life of kindness, contentment, compassion, and purpose, not external validation. CMH 32.3

“The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance, or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’” 1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV CMH 32.4

“Many measure themselves among themselves, and compare their lives with the lives of others. This should not be. No one but Christ is given us as an example… each should strive to excel in imitating Him.” Ellen White in That I May Know Him, p. 174 CMH 32.5
