Counsel #15 — Promises of God

In a world full of changing opinions and fragile self-worth, there is one place where your identity never wavers - God’s promises! The Bible isn’t just ancient text. It’s a living, breathing declaration of how deeply God values you. He promises never to leave you, or forsake you; to never stop loving you. CI 173.2
When your self-esteem falters and discouragement creeps in, cling to what God says: “You are mine.” His promises aren’t just poetic; they’re personal. Scriptures like Isaiah 41:10, Jeremiah 29:11, and Romans 8:38, 39 remind you that your worth is not defined by achievements, relationships, or emotions, but because of the One who created you and died for you. Claiming these truths means more than memorizing them. It means choosing to believe God’s Word about your worth, even when insecurity rises and you feel unworthy. Satan is a liar and is desperate for you to believe that you are worthless. But you can overcome these feelings; remember, Jesus paid an infinite price to save your soul. The battle Jesus and Satan fight for your heart and mind is real, but Jesus has claimed you as His own. Despite how you may feel, you can know your self-worth as found in God’s unchanging promises.[189] CI 173.3
