Finding someone to date isn’t easy. Unlike culture’s view, you should never start dating someone based on their looks, job, or monetary status. Instead, just as God does, we should look at the heart, ensuring that the character traits they portray mirror the fruits of the spirit. CR 116.2
Before looking, you should begin with self-preparation and a commitment to seeking God’s guidance. Focus on becoming the person you want to attract by growing spiritually, emotionally, and personally. Prayer plays a vital role in this process, as it aligns your desires with God’s will and helps you discern His timing. Practically, to meet someone, you will have to engage in activities that align with your faith and values. Attend church events, join small groups, or volunteer in your community to connect with like-minded individuals. Expanding your social circle through hobbies or mutual friends can also lead to meaningful relationships. The most important thing to remember is never rush the process. Pray consistently for clarity and wisdom, trusting that God will bring the right person into your life at the perfect time. Let faith guide your steps and decisions, not merely your desires.12 CR 116.3
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV CR 116.4
“Patience must have its perfect work or we cannot be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Ellen White in Our High Calling, p. 70 CR 116.5
