Counsel #2 — The Case For Purity

Today, a large number of professed Christians have been sexually active before marriage or with partners other than their spouse during marriage. Instead of the Christian church being an example for the world, its members have often become indifferent to God’s specific boundaries for human sexuality. CR 105.2

The sexual “liberation” movement was expected to increase happiness. However, myriad health and social problems including low self-esteem, divorce, sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, suicide, as well as complex psychological and emotional issues have drastically increased. Jesus wants to protect you from any physical, emotional, or spiritual harm. You are His beloved treasure—He died to set you free from sin and its terrible consequences. Unlike the false “liberation” with its empty promises, life with Jesus and His boundaries will give you true freedom and happiness as you allow His righteousness to become your own.[99]  CR 105.3

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 NKJV CR 105.4

“Those who are controlled by their passions cannot be followers of Christ.” Ellen White in Child Guidance, pp. 445, 446 CR 105.5
