What if your home wasn’t just where you lived, but where the gospel lived, too? Some of the most powerful biblical moments of ministry happened not in temples or synagogues, but in homes! CR 232.2
Think of Abraham, who welcomed three strangers into his tent,[244] not knowing he was entertaining divine messengers. Or the Shunammite woman, who prepared a room for the prophet Elisha, turning her home into a place of rest and rejuvenation.[245] In the New Testament, Priscilla and Aquila hosted a house church, discipled Apollos, and extended the reach of the early church through the warmth of their hospitality.[246] Even Jesus’ most intimate moments with His disciples, like the Last Supper, took place in homes and not in crowds. A family grounded in Christ doesn’t have to travel far to be missionaries. Every shared meal, every invitation to a neighbor, and every prayer spoken at the dinner table becomes a seed of the gospel. Adventist homes have long been envisioned as lighthouses - places of health, study, service, and truth. That legacy is yours to continue.[247] CR 232.3
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NIV CR 232.4
“I had a letter written to you months ago, inviting you to come to our place, and we would help you to get well. … Come right to our home; it is a pleasant place, away from the noise and bustle of the city.” Ellen White in Letter 192, 1907 CR 232.5
Reflect: How is your home reflecting Christ’s love to those who enter? CR 232.6
