Counsels on Relationships
Counsel #3 — Teamwork
Picture: Counsel #3 — Teamwork CR 144.1
In today's world, working together as a team is more important than ever. A Christian approach to teamwork highlights the value of serving others and using your skills to honor God. This way of thinking encourages a team-oriented mindset, where everyone works together toward a shared goal. When you see your coworkers as partners in service, rather than rivals, you're more likely to give and receive help and understanding. CR 144.2
Think of it like this: Just as iron sharpens iron, friends help each other grow. When you work together with your colleagues, you can learn from each other, support each other, and achieve more than you could alone. And when you live a life dedicated to God, you're more open to the Holy Spirit's guidance. The Holy Spirit can help you to be an essential part of your workplace team, as well as making a positive spiritual impact on your colleagues.[137] CR 144.3
“As iron sharpens iron so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17 NKJV CR 144.4
“There is no limit to the usefulness of one who, by putting self aside, makes room for the working of the Holy Spirit upon his heart, and lives a life wholly consecrated to God.” Ellen White in The Desire of Ages, pp. 250, 251 CR 144.5
Reflect: What would it look like for you to "put self aside" at your workplace and make room for the Holy Spirit? CR 144.6
