Забота о сиротах

Среди тех, чьи нужды требуют нашего внимания, вдовы и сироты более других вправе претендовать на наше нежное сочувствие. Они являются объектом особой Божьей заботы. Они доверены христианам, чтобы те отвечали за них перед Богом. «Чистое и непорочное благочестие пред Богом и Отцом есть то, чтобы призирать сирот и вдов в их скорбях и хранить себя неоскверненным от мира» (Иакова 1:27). СдЦ 285.7

Многие отцы, которые умерли в вере, покоясь на вечном Божьем обетовании, оставили своих любимых в полной уверенности, что Господь позаботится о них. И каким же образом Господь обеспечивает этих людей, понесших утрату? Он не творит чудо, посылая манну с небес; Он не посылает воронов принести им пищи, но Он творит чудо с человеческими сердцами, изгоняя из души эгоизм и отверзая источники благодеяния. Он испытывает любовь Своих последователей по исповеданию, доверяя их нежному милосердию людей сокрушенных и обездоленных, понесших утрату. СдЦ 286.1

Пусть имеющие любовь Божью откроют свои сердца и дома и примут этих детей. Не самый лучший метод — заботиться о сиротах в больших учреждениях. Если у них нет родственников, способных обеспечивать их, то членам наших церквей следует усыновить сирот либо найти для них подходящие дома в других местах. СдЦ 286.2

Эти дети в особом смысле являются теми, на кого призирает Христос, и пренебрежение ими оскорбительно для Него. Всякое доброе дело, сделанное для сирот во имя Иисуса, принимается Им как сделанное для Него.⁵³¹ СдЦ 286.3

Care of Orphans

Among all whose needs demand our interest, the widow and the fatherless have the strongest claims upon our tender sympathy. They are the objects of the Lord’s special care. They are lent to Christians in trust for God. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27. CCh 285.7

Many a father who has died in the faith, resting upon the eternal promise of God, has left his loved ones in full trust that the Lord would care for them. And how does the Lord provide for these bereaved ones? He does not work a miracle in sending manna from heaven; He does not send ravens to bring them food; but He works a miracle upon human hearts, expelling selfishness from the soul and unsealing the fountains of benevolence. He tests the love of His professed followers by committing to their tender mercies the afflicted and bereaved ones. CCh 286.1

Let those who have the love of God open their hearts and homes to take in these children. It is not the best plan to care for the orphans in large institutions. If they have no relatives able to provide for them, the members of our churches should either adopt these little ones into their families or find suitable homes for them in other households. CCh 286.2

These children are in a special sense the ones whom Christ looks upon, whom it is an offense to Him to neglect. Every kind act done to them in the name of Jesus is accepted by Him as done to Himself.⁵³² CCh 286.3
