To Brother Sawyer and Sister Hannah Sawyer-Hopkins
Dear Friends:
I received Sister Hannah’s letter of July 1 and will say to you both that I am interested in your welfare. If you can not find a suitable place to live and sustain yourselves, I will ask our brethren to help you to find the best and most comfortable place where every dollar you earn will count the most for your comfort. 22LtMs, Lt 216, 1907, par. 1
Regarding the matter of your uniting with Sister Gotzian in the establishment of an old peoples’ home, I would say that the establishment of such a home means very much. It would take more than you and she have to put into it in the matters of qualification for the management of such an enterprise. I understand quite fully what the responsibility of such a place would be, and I could not advise you to enter into such an undertaking. 22LtMs, Lt 216, 1907, par. 2
My son will write to Elder J. A. Burden, asking him to visit you and to give you such counsel as he might have. I have not been very well since the camp-meeting and cannot write more today. 22LtMs, Lt 216, 1907, par. 3
