Jesus Endorsed the “Scripture of Truth”
Christ our Lord endorsed these Holy Writings. He did this: BSPC 24.4
1. For the Scriptures as a whole
“You do err, not knowing the scriptures.” Matthew 22:29. BSPC 24.5
“The scripture cannot be broken.” John 10:35. BSPC 24.6
“How are the Scriptures to be fulfilled which declare that thus it must be.” Matthew 26:54, Weymouth. BSPC 24.7
2. For the five books of Moses
“Had you believed Moses, you would have believed me: for he wrote of me.” John 5:46. BSPC 24.8
“Have you not read in the book of Moses?” Mark 12:26. BSPC 24.9
“They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.” Luke 16:29. BSPC 24.10
3. For the writings of the prophets
“That the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Matthew 26:56. BSPC 24.11
“Slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.” Luke 24:25. BSPC 24.12
“All things that are written by the prophets.” Luke 18:31. BSPC 24.13
4. For the Holy Writings (Psalms, etc.)
“In the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms concerning me.” Luke 24:44. BSPC 24.14

The expression “It is written” is used to introduce about eighty quotations from the Old Testament in the New Testament, and the Savior made use of this term quite frequently in His reference to the Sacred Writings. BSPC 24.17
