NKJV Bible in 365 Days
End Times and Jesus’ Final Night — October 11
Luke 21-22
Luke 21
1 And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 365N 284.1
2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. [a] 365N 284.2
3 So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 365N 284.3
4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings [b] for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” 365N 284.4
5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was [c] adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, 365N 284.5
6 “These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.” 365N 284.6
7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?” 365N 284.7
8 And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He, ’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ [d] Therefore do not [e] go after them. 365N 284.8
9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” 365N 284.9
10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 365N 284.10
11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 365N 284.11
12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 365N 284.12
13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. 365N 284.13
14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will [f] answer; 365N 284.14
15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or [g] resist. 365N 284.15
16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 365N 284.16
17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 365N 284.17
18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 365N 284.18
19 By your patience possess your souls. 365N 284.19
20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 365N 284.20
21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 365N 284.21
22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 365N 284.22
23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 365N 284.23
24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 365N 284.24
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 365N 284.25
26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 365N 284.26
27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 365N 284.27
28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” 365N 284.28
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 365N 284.29
30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 365N 284.30
31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 365N 284.31
32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 365N 284.32
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. 365N 284.33
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with [h] carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 365N 284.34
35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 365N 284.35
36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may [i] be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” 365N 284.36
37 And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet. 365N 284.37
38 Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him. 365N 284.38
Luke 22
1 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. 365N 284.39
2 And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. 365N 284.40
3 Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 365N 284.41
4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 365N 284.42
5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 365N 284.43
6 So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude. 365N 284.44
7 Then came the Day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover must be [a] killed. 365N 284.45
8 And He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.” 365N 284.46
9 So they said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare?” 365N 284.47
10 And He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters. 365N 284.48
11 Then you shall say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ 365N 284.49
12 Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready.” 365N 284.50
13 So they went and found it just as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover. 365N 284.51
14 When the hour had come, He sat down, and the [b] twelve apostles with Him. 365N 284.52
15 Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 365N 284.53
16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 365N 284.54
17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; 365N 284.55
18 for I say to you, [c] I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 365N 284.56
19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 365N 284.57
20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. 365N 284.58
21 But behold, the hand of My betrayer is with Me on the table. 365N 284.59
22 And truly the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!” 365N 284.60
23 Then they began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing. 365N 284.61
24 Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. 365N 284.62
25 And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ 365N 284.63
26 But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. 365N 284.64
27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. 365N 284.65
28 “But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. 365N 284.66
29 And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, 365N 284.67
30 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” 365N 284.68
31 [d] And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 365N 284.69
32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” 365N 284.70
33 But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.” 365N 284.71
34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.” 365N 284.72
35 And He said to them, “When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?” So they said, “Nothing.” 365N 284.73
36 Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. 365N 284.74
37 For I say to you that this which is written must still be [e] accomplished in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For the things concerning Me have an end.” 365N 284.75
38 So they said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.” 365N 284.76
39 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. 365N 284.77
40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 365N 284.78
41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 365N 284.79
42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 365N 284.80
43 [f] Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 365N 284.81
44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 365N 284.82
45 When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. 365N 284.83
46 Then He said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.” 365N 284.84
47 And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. 365N 284.85
48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” 365N 284.86
49 When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” 365N 284.87
50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. 365N 284.88
51 But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his ear and healed him. 365N 284.89
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs? 365N 284.90
53 When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” 365N 284.91
54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance. 365N 284.92
55 Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. 365N 284.93
56 And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him.” 365N 284.94
57 But he denied [g] Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.” 365N 284.95
58 And after a little while another saw him and said, “You also are of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!” 365N 284.96
59 Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.” 365N 284.97
60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, [h] the rooster crowed. 365N 284.98
61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster [i] crows, you will deny Me three times.” 365N 284.99
62 So Peter went out and wept bitterly. 365N 284.100
63 Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him. 365N 284.101
64 [j] And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?” 365N 284.102
65 And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him. 365N 284.103
66 As soon as it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying, 365N 284.104
67 “If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will by no means believe. 365N 284.105
68 And if I [k] also ask you, you will by no means answer [l] Me or let Me go. 365N 284.106
69 Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.” 365N 284.107
70 Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.” 365N 284.108
71 And they said, “What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.” 365N 284.109
