Matthew 8:14-17 365D 47.1
14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 365D 47.2
15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served [a] them. 365D 47.3
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 365D 47.4
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “ He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” 365D 47.5
21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. 365D 47.7
22 And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. 365D 47.8
23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 365D 47.9
24 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” 365D 47.10
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, [h] “Be quiet, and come out of him!” 365D 47.11
26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. 365D 47.12
27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, [i] “What is this? What new [j] doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” 365D 47.13
28 And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee. 365D 47.14
29 Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 365D 47.15
30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. 365D 47.16
31 So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them. 365D 47.17
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. 365D 47.18
33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 365D 47.19
34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. 365D 47.20
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a [k] solitary place; and there He prayed. 365D 47.21
36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 365D 47.22
37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” 365D 47.23
38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” 365D 47.24
39 And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons. 365D 47.25
31 Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 365D 47.27
32 And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority. 365D 47.28
33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 365D 47.29
34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” 365D 47.30
35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, [n] “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. 365D 47.31
36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” 365D 47.32
37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region. 365D 47.33
38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was [o] sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 365D 47.34
39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. 365D 47.35
40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. 365D 47.36
41 And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are [p] the Christ, the Son of God!” And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to [q] speak, for they knew that He was the Christ. 365D 47.37
42 Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; 365D 47.38
43 but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” 365D 47.39
44 And He was preaching in the synagogues of [r] Galilee. 365D 47.40
