Matthew 28:1-15 365D 351.1
1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 365D 351.2
2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone [a] from the door, and sat on it. 365D 351.3
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 365D 351.4
4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 365D 351.5
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 365D 351.6
6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 365D 351.7
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 365D 351.8
8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. 365D 351.9
9 And [b] as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 365D 351.10
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” 365D 351.11
11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 365D 351.12
12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 365D 351.13
13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 365D 351.14
14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 365D 351.15
15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. 365D 351.16
1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 365D 351.18
2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 365D 351.19
3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 365D 351.20
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 365D 351.21
5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 365D 351.22
6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 365D 351.23
7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going [a] before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” 365D 351.24
8 So they went out [b] quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. 365D 351.25
9 [c] Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. 365D 351.26
10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 365D 351.27
11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe. 365D 351.28
