Matthew 27:11-30 365DGSP 335.1
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. 365DGSP 335.2
12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 365DGSP 335.3
13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? 365DGSP 335.4
14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. 365DGSP 335.5
15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. 365DGSP 335.6
16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. 365DGSP 335.7
17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? 365DGSP 335.8
18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. 365DGSP 335.9
19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. 365DGSP 335.10
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. 365DGSP 335.11
21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 365DGSP 335.12
22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 365DGSP 335.13
23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 365DGSP 335.14
24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 365DGSP 335.15
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 365DGSP 335.16
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 365DGSP 335.17
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 365DGSP 335.18
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 365DGSP 335.19
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 365DGSP 335.20
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 365DGSP 335.21
2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. 365DGSP 335.23
3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. 365DGSP 335.24
4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 365DGSP 335.25
5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 365DGSP 335.26
6 Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 365DGSP 335.27
7 And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 365DGSP 335.28
8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 365DGSP 335.29
9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 365DGSP 335.30
10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. 365DGSP 335.31
11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 365DGSP 335.32
12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 365DGSP 335.33
13 And they cried out again, Crucify him. 365DGSP 335.34
14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. 365DGSP 335.35
15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. 365DGSP 335.36
16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 365DGSP 335.37
17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 365DGSP 335.38
18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 365DGSP 335.39
19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 365DGSP 335.40
1 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. 365DGSP 335.42
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King. 365DGSP 335.43
3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it. 365DGSP 335.44
4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. 365DGSP 335.45
5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place. 365DGSP 335.46
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. 365DGSP 335.47
7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time. 365DGSP 335.48
8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. 365DGSP 335.49
9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing. 365DGSP 335.50
10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. 365DGSP 335.51
11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. 365DGSP 335.52
12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. 365DGSP 335.53
13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 365DGSP 335.54
14 Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: 365DGSP 335.55
15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him. 365DGSP 335.56
16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him. 365DGSP 335.57
17 For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) 365DGSP 335.58
18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: 365DGSP 335.59
19 Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) 365DGSP 335.60
20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them. 365DGSP 335.61
21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. 365DGSP 335.62
22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. 365DGSP 335.63
23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. 365DGSP 335.64
24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. 365DGSP 335.65
25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will. 365DGSP 335.66
John 18:28-40 365DGSP 335.67
28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. 365DGSP 335.68
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? 365DGSP 335.69
30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee. 365DGSP 335.70
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: 365DGSP 335.71
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die. 365DGSP 335.72
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? 365DGSP 335.73
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? 365DGSP 335.74
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? 365DGSP 335.75
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 365DGSP 335.76
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 365DGSP 335.77
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. 365DGSP 335.78
39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 365DGSP 335.79
40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. 365DGSP 335.80
