Matthew 15:1-20 365DGSP 126.1

1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 365DGSP 126.2

2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 365DGSP 126.3

3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 365DGSP 126.4

4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 365DGSP 126.5

5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 365DGSP 126.6

6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 365DGSP 126.7

7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 365DGSP 126.8

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 365DGSP 126.9

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 365DGSP 126.10

10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 365DGSP 126.11

11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 365DGSP 126.12

12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 365DGSP 126.13

13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 365DGSP 126.14

14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 365DGSP 126.15

15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 365DGSP 126.16

16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 365DGSP 126.17

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 365DGSP 126.18

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 365DGSP 126.19

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 365DGSP 126.20

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. 365DGSP 126.21

Mark 7:1-23 365DGSP 126.22

1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. 365DGSP 126.23

2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. 365DGSP 126.24

3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. 365DGSP 126.25

4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. 365DGSP 126.26

5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? 365DGSP 126.27

6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 365DGSP 126.28

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 365DGSP 126.29

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 365DGSP 126.30

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 365DGSP 126.31

10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 365DGSP 126.32

11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. 365DGSP 126.33

12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 365DGSP 126.34

13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 365DGSP 126.35

14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 365DGSP 126.36

15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 365DGSP 126.37

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 365DGSP 126.38

17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 365DGSP 126.39

18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 365DGSP 126.40

19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 365DGSP 126.41

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 365DGSP 126.42

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 365DGSP 126.43

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 365DGSP 126.44

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. 365DGSP 126.45

John 7:1 365DGSP 126.46

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. 365DGSP 126.47
