Jesus' Teachings on Kingdom Living — March 10 [Description]

Bible discovery

Matthew 7:1-29 365D 69.1

“Judge [a] not, that you be not judged. 365D 69.2

For with what [b] judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 365D 69.3

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 365D 69.4

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 365D 69.5

Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. 365D 69.6

“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces. 365D 69.7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 365D 69.8

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 365D 69.9

Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 365D 69.10

Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 365D 69.11

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 365D 69.12

Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. 365D 69.13

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 365D 69.14

[c] Because narrow is the gate and [d] difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. 365D 69.15

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 365D 69.16

You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 365D 69.17

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 365D 69.18

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 365D 69.19

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 365D 69.20

Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 365D 69.21

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 365D 69.22

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 365D 69.23

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ 365D 69.24

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 365D 69.25

and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 365D 69.26

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 365D 69.27

and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” 365D 69.28

And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 365D 69.29

for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. 365D 69.30

Luke 6:37-49 365D 69.31

“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 365D 69.32

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” 365D 69.33

And He spoke a parable to them: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch? 365D 69.34

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. 365D 69.35

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 365D 69.36

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye. 365D 69.37

“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 365D 69.38

For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 365D 69.39

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil [i] treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. 365D 69.40

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 365D 69.41

Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 365D 69.42

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was [j] founded on the rock. 365D 69.43

But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it [k] fell. And the ruin of that house was great.” 365D 69.44
