After the resurrection of the righteous dead, they and the living righteous are “caught up to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Then they will live and reign with Christ for a thousand years in heaven, not on earth. This reign is in the heavenly New Jerusalem since the earthly city of Jerusalem does not play a significant role in the book of Revelation. JTLD 376.2

During the thousand years, the redeemed saints of God will participate with Christ in the judgment of the wicked (see Question #5). JTLD 376.3
