For Seventh-day Adventists, if a member is actively promoting a concept that directly contradicts the Fundamental Beliefs established through prayer, biblical study, and the unction of the Spirit, that member should be counseled with loving concern. If the member nonetheless persists in promoting what contradicts biblical teaching, his or her actions should be brought to the local governing church body for appropriate discipline. This discipline should be characterized by Christ’s pity and forgiveness, remembering that just as we wish Christ to deal with us, so must we deal with one another. JTLD 340.2
