Q5. How did human nature change when Adam and Eve sinned?
Picture: Q5. How did human nature change when Adam and Eve sinned? JTLD 181.1
At Creation, our first parents were given conditional immortality, dependent upon their obedience to God’s Word. Because of their sin, their immortality changed to mortality. Disobedience led to death. JTLD 181.2
Adam and Eve severed their dependence on God when they failed to trust in His Word. This broken relationship brought a separation between God and humanity. Not only did Adam’s nature change from sinless to sinful, but history reveals that Adam’s descendants also share the sinfulness of his nature (Romans 5:12). JTLD 181.3
