Friendships can be easier at church because having a shared belief system simplifies connecting with others. But here's the problem: it's also tempting to stick with people who are similar to us. It can be tougher to relate to those who are new or different. In the Bible, Paul tells believers to treat everyone consistently, whether it's easy or not, to relate to people outside their usual social circle. Next time you see someone new, why not reach out and welcome them, spend a few minutes getting to know them, and introduce them to others in the group.^[137] CCL 108.2
