Counsels on Church Life
Counsel #2 — Ask, Seek, And Knock!
Picture: Counsel #2 — Ask, Seek, And Knock! CCL 81.1
God gives us opportunities to serve Him when we actively look for them. He encourages us to ask, seek, and knock! There are many ways to find volunteer mission opportunities. Local divisions often advertise on social media or show up at events with booths and flyers. Even more opportunities are listed online by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists at vividfaith.com. Vividfaith includes volunteer mission placements from all over the world, including countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America. Some placements are as short as three months, and others are as long as two years or more. Truly, the harvest is great, and laborers are needed everywhere! CCL 81.2
"You will be my witnesses—in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.” Acts 11:8b ICB CCL 81.3
“It is the very essence of all right faith to do the right thing at the right time. God is the great Master Worker, and by His providence He prepares the way for His work to be accomplished. He provides opportunities, opens up lines of influence and channels of working. If His people are watching the indications of His providence, and stand ready to co-operate with Him, they will see a great work accomplished.” Ellen White in Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 24.3 CCL 81.4
Reflect: Do you feel called to serve as a volunteer missionary? Are there current opportunities listed on Vividfaith that you could apply for?[106] CCL 81.5
